WCUG (850 AM) was a radio station broadcasting a Country music format. Formerly licensed to Cuthbert, Georgia, USA, the station was owned by Mullis Communications, Inc.
Mullis Communications returned WCUG's license to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on January 25, 2011; it was cancelled by the FCC on February 7, 2011.
WCUG (88.5 FM, "The Truth") is a radio station licensed to the community of Lumpkin, Georgia and to serve Columbus, Georgia and its metro area. It broadcasts as a Contemporary Christian radio station. It began broadcasting in April 2008 at frequency 103.7, but, as of December 2009, it is broadcasting at 88.5.
WCUG was put on the air by former WCGQ PD/Air Talent Lee McCard who was the morning host until July 2009. Morning successor Heath Jackson was shot and killed at his home in September 2010, in a murder case which stunned Columbus. Police arrested a suspected burglar on murder charges. The current morning host is station manager Brian Hite.
