Wardha

Wardha is a city and a municipal council in Wardha district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the administrative headquarters of Wardha district. Wardha gets its name from the Wardha River which flows at the North, West and South boundaries of district. Founded in 1866, the town is now an important centre for the cotton trade. It was an important part of Gandhian Era.

Wardha Vidhan Sabha constituency is one of the 288 Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) constituencies in Maharashtra state in western India. This constituency is one of the four Vidhan Sabha constituencies in the Wardha district and comprises parts of the Wardha and Seloo tehsils of this district.

Wardha is part of the Wardha Lok Sabha constituency along with five other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely Deoli, Arvi and Hinganght in the Wardha district and Dhamangon Railway and Morshi in the Amravati district. Wardha is the 2nd biggest Vidhan Sabha constituency in Wardha district after the Hinganghat Vidhan Sabha constituency.
