The station is owned by Apex Broadcasting, Inc and serves the Tuscaloosa, Alabama, area. Apex Broadcasting owns radio stations WAVF, WCKN, WMXZ, WSPO, and WXST in South Carolina but WALJ is their only broadcast property in Alabama.
