Vedurupaka

Vedurupaka is a village in Rayavaram mandal, East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state, India located nearly 30 km away from Kakinada.

Local economy is mainly agrarian and the village is surrounded by lush green paddy fields. With a population of 6,000, it has produced many Vedic, Biblical and other Scholars. The name Vedurupaka comes from the great king of Mahabharata, Vidura who spent later part of his life in this village.

The river "Tulyabhaga" which flows by Vedurupaka is an agricultural drain which William Wilson Hunter described it as one of the seven estuaries of the mighty river Godavari River.
