Utting is a surname with several origins. In some cases it is a Jewish surname from Germany, It was used by the first Jewish people that settled in Utting am Ammersee before they relocated to other areas of Germany and eastern Europe. Some of the settlers that left Utting am Ammersee for Poland, Russia and Lithuania also changed the name to "Utinski" or "Utinsky".
