Urbicus

Urbicus was a Roman cognomen, meaning "of the city" or "civic".

It was borne by several Romans from the Imperial era:

  • Pompeius Urbicus, knight that lived in Emperor Claudius’ reign
  • Quintus Lollius Urbicus, 2nd-century Roman governor of Britain and prefect of Rome.
  • Quintus Petronius Urbicus, prefect of Cohors IV Gallorum equitata, around 230 CE
  • Aggenus Urbicus, Roman technical writer who probably lived in the late 4th century.
