Urbain Servranckx (born 7 June 1949), better known as Urbanus, is a Belgian stand-up comedian, actor, singer and comic book writer.
Urbanus (d. 271?) was a Roman usurper.
Urbanus staged an uprising in the beginning of the reign of Aurelian. According to Zosimus (1,49,2) he was soon defeated. It is possible that this usurper never existed.
Urbanus is a genus of skipper butterflies. They belong to the subfamily Eudaminae, which was long included with the spread-winged skippers (Pyrginae) as a tribe. They are found from southern United States to South America.
Some smaller genera have been merged with Urbanus. One of these, now a junior synonym, is Eudamus, the type genus of the Eudaminae. But in the wide circumscription listed here, Urbanus is apparently not monophyletic, and thus some of the formerly independent genera are likely valid.
Urbanus is the seventh album by jazz vibraphonist Stefon Harris. It was released in August 2009 on Concord Records, Harris's first release with the label, his previous six releases were on Blue Note Records. The self- produced album was Harris's second with his band Blackout, the first being 2004's Evolution. It reached number 15 on the Billboard Top Traditional Jazz Albums chart and was nominated for the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album.
Urbanus is a Flemish comic strip loosely based on Flemish comedian and singer Urbanus. The stories are written by Urbanus himself and drawn by Willy Linthout. The first story was published in 1982 and is still in syndication as of this day, being the longest-running and most successful Flemish comic strip based on a celebrity. The comics sell well in the Netherlands too, due to Urbanus' popularity there.
