What is "ukssd"

UKSSD e.V. (Unabhängiges Komitee für Sozialentwicklung und selbstorganisierte Demokratie e. V. in German, or The The Independent Committee for Social Development and Self-Organized Democracy in English) is a non-profit, youth and diaspora international non-governmental organization based in Leipzig, Germany. It was founded in December 2012. The organization was formed in response to popular movements during the Syrian Civil War. UKSSD works to fill several gaps that exist in Syrian civil society as a result of the conflict. These include education, child protection and youth development, protection and empowerment of women, care for internally displaced persons, UKSSD has the legal status of a German registered voluntary association ( Eingetragener Verein).
