Ugrians

The Ugrians (Ουγγαροί) or Ugors, were the ancestors of the present Ob-Ugrians (Khanty & Manshi) and Hungarians (Magyars) of Hungary, the country being then known as Etelköz or Atelkuzu. They comprise one branch of the Finno-Ugric peoples. In the 9th century, they moved into the Bessarabia region.
