Tveitetunet

Tveitetunet is an open-air farm museum located at Valle, in Aust-Agder, Norway.

Tveiten consists of the courtyard and farm buildings of the Nordigard Tveiten farm in the traditional rural district of Setesdal. The former farm became part of Setesdal Museum (Setesdalsmuseet) in 1969. Setesdal Museum was established in 1935 to preserve the historic artifacts of Setesdal. The museum is responsible for approximately 70 buildings within the valley. Setesdal Museum subsequently purchased an old barn with stable and cowshed from a neighboring farm in Valle which were moved and erected at the site. Tveiten was opened to the public as a museum in 1977. The facilities are regularly used for exhibitions and cultural gatherings.

Nordigard Tveiten was once the home of district sheriff Olav Knutsson Tveiten. He was a representative at the Norwegian Constituent Assembly at Eidsvoll in 1814 and served as the local sheriff from 1785 until he died in 1837.
