Tonara is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about north of Cagliari and about southwest of Nuoro. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,308,000 and an area of .
The municipality of Tonara contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Arasulè, Su Pranu, Toneri, Teliseri, and Ilalà (abandoned).

Tonara is an Israeli music software company that develops the name of both a technology company and the sheet music software it develops. The software is capable of acoustic polyphonic score following, showing the musician's real-time position on the score, and turning the pages automatically as the player reaches the end of a page. The software was initially launched as an iPad application in September 2011. The application includes several free music scores, and additional music scores can be acquired through in-app purchasing. The application also enables users to record their performances, and share them with friends.
