What is "tokat"

Tokat is the capital city of Tokat Province of Turkey in the mid- Black Sea region of Anatolia. It is located at the confluence of the Tokat River (Tokat Suyu) with the Yeşilırmak. In the 2009 census, the city of Tokat had a population of 129,879.

Tokat is an electoral district of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. It elects 5 members of parliament (deputies) to represent the province of the same name for a four-year term by the D'Hondt method, a party-list proportional representation system.
