Titram

Titram (IPA- tɪtrʌm)is a village situated in Kaithal District of north Indian state of Haryana. This village is situated at an important junction of National Highway 65 & State Highway 11-A. This point is known as Titram Crossing (tɪtrʌm mɔd).

It is believed that ancient Indian religious texts Taittiriya Samhita and Taittiriya Upanishad were written around this very place.

Titram village has population of 4309,in the residing 752 families,of which 2341 are males while 1968 are females as per Population Census 2011. Literacy rate of Titram village was nearly 70%.Male literacy stands at 79.35 % while female literacy rate was 57.14 %. As per constitution of India and Panchyati Raaj Act, Titram village is administrated by Sarpanch (Head of Village) who is elected representative of village.
Population of this village consists chiefly of Jats of kundu Gotra followed by Maliks, Booras,and Kaindals. Chamar( Harijan), Kumhar( Potter)and Lohar( Vishwakarma) are among some other castes(social group) residing in the village.
Earlier most of the population was engaged in agricultural work but, due to the village's proximity to kaithal and availability of quality education in the region, is now exploring various other options in jobs and small scale business opportunities.

The village is well equipped with all basic civic amenities such as drinking water, twenty-four hour electricity supply, well maintained concrete block streets,street lightening etc.Besides a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya established in the village in 1987 there is a Govt High School and 2 Govt Primary Schools separately for boys and girls. Chandana, Peoda, Deoban and Harshola are other nearby villages.
