Tigrinyas

The Tigrinyas are an ethnic group inhabiting central Eritrea, an area spanning the Southern and Central, as well as the Northern Red Sea and Anseba Regions. Linguistically, Tigrinyas are related to the Tigrayans of Ethiopia, both of whom speak Tigrinya, a Semitic language belonging to the Afroasiatic family. They are not to be confused with the Tigre people who speak Tigre, a closely-related Afroasiatic language.
