Thomastown , historically known as Grennan, is a town in County Kilkenny in the province of Leinster in the south-east of Ireland. It is a lively market town along a stretch of the River Nore which is known for its salmon and trout, with a number of historical landmarks in the vicinity. Visitor attractions include Jerpoint Abbey, Kilfane Glen gardens, and Mount Juliet Golf Course.
Thomastown is a Local Electoral Area of County Kilkenny and includes the electoral divisions of Ballyhale, Ballyvool, Bennettsbridge, Bramblestown, Castlebanny, Clara, Coolhill, Dunbell, Famma, Freaghana, Goresbridge, Gowran, Graiguenamanagh, Inistioge, Jerpoint Church, Kilfane, Kiltorcan, Paulstown, Pleberstown, Powerstown, Shankill, Thomastown, Tullaherin, Ullard and Woolengrange.
Thomastown was a constituency represented in the Irish House of Commons until 1800. Following the Act of Union 1800 the borough was disenfranchised.

Thomastown is a village and district of the large community of Tonyrefail, within Rhonddda Cynon Taf, South Wales. It is located to the south of Tonyrefail within the 'Tonyrefail West' electoral ward, and falls within the Ely Valley along the A4119.
