This Is the Life is an American Christian television dramatic series. This anthology series aired in syndication from the 1950s through the 1980s. The series was originally produced by the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and distributed by the International Lutheran Laymen's League.

This Is the Life is a solo album from Scottish rock musician Ricky Ross, a member of Deacon Blue.

Ross produced the album with Kenny MacDonald, who had produced for Deacon Blue in the past. The album has more touches of folk and country music and the general mood of the album is more placid than most of the Deacon Blue catalog.

Deacon Blue colleague James Prime plays piano on "The Way to Work", and Ross' wife and Deacon Blue colleague Lorraine McIntosh contributes vocals to one song (as she did on each of Ross' three prior solo albums), "Nothing Cures That".

This is the first Ricky Ross solo album to receive a US release.

The music video consists of pictures of Macdonald and her friends' night out.

The song was used in a 2010 advert for the Fiat 500 shown across Europe. It was also used in the early 2011 as an advert in Norway and re-entered the chart directly at number one. It is also used as an opening theme for a Polish television series True Law.

The track was also released in the U.S. on a vinyl 45 rpm single (Decca UCGR-00199-1) with unique picture sleeve, backed with "Let's Start a Band."

This is the Life is a 2008 documentary film directed by Ava DuVernay, which chronicles the alternative hip hop movement that flourished in 1990's Los Angeles and its legendary center, the Good Life Cafe.

Interviewees include Myka 9 and P.E.A.C.E. of Freestyle Fellowship, Chali 2na and Cut Chemist of Jurassic 5, Medusa, Abstract Rude, Pigeon John, 2Mex, Chillin Villian Empire, Busdriver and many others. The director Ava DuVernay, known at the time as Eve, was herself an MC at the Good Life open-mic as part of the group Figures of Speech.
