Tengger (singer)

Tengger (; ; born January 15, 1960), also known as Tenger, is a Chinese singer, a songwriter and a composer of Mongol heritage. He was born in Otog Banner, Inner Mongolia, China in Sainbayar family.

He composed and sang the song "The Mongol" (蒙古人, měng gǔ rén) in 1986 which made him become famous. Since then, he has written the theme songs for all sorts of TV series and movies. Tengger held a concert in the United States on September 14, 2001, shortly after the September 11 attacks, during which he dedicated his song "Heaven" to the audience to pay tribute to the victims. He performed the ending theme of the CCTV television series Kangxi Dynasty.
