Taurinus

Taurinus (d. 232?) was a Roman usurper, one of only two attempted uprisings against Alexander Severus.

He was proclaimed emperor by the Syrian legion, which mutinied during the war with the Sassanids. Alexander managed to suppress the uprising, and Taurinus drowned while attempting to flee across the Euphrates. Alexander Severus returned to Rome and celebrated a triumph in 233.
