Taniplon is a nonbenzodiazepine anxiolytic drug from the imidazoquinazoline family of drugs.
Taniplon binds strongly to benzodiazepine sites on the GABA receptor and has similar anxiolytic effects in animals, but with less sedative or muscle relaxant action.
