Tangani'a

Tangani'a in kibembe language means Tanganyika, which is the name of the lake. This denomination is obvious a way of naming places after rivers, lakes, etc. . The same thing was applied to Tanganyika state which was named after the related lake they merged with Zanzibar and became the United Republic of Tanzania.

The main town of the Tangani'a collective is Mbo' ko alongside the lake Tanganyika. In this part of Fizi territory the large group of Babembe tribe is called Banyaboke. Even their Kibembe accent is particularly unique to that collective. For example a Mubembe of M'tambala might want to say "BRING" in Kibembe and say "Lu'sha" but a Mubembe of Tangani'a has to say "tu'sha".

The economic activity in that collective is fishing, agriculture and farming. The place is very behind in terms of development due to isolation of the Fizi territory since the independence of Congo. The type of public servants you may find there are primary and secondary teachers, some prosecutors, Tax collectors, local government agents and spies. More than 90% of the population are unemployed people. The government does not do much due to ongoing instability in the eastern part of the DRC.
