The tall poppy syndrome is a culture where people of high status are resented, attacked, cut down or criticised because they have been classified as better than their peers. This is similar to begrudgery, the resentment or envy of the success of a peer. The term has been widely used in all the Anglosphere nations, and is especially identified with Australia.

Tall Poppy Syndrome is the first studio album released by the Norwegian progressive metal band, Leprous. It was recorded and mixed at Black Lounge Studio/The Abyss by Jonas Kjellgren, mastered at West West Side by Alan Douchess. The music is composed by the whole band and the lyrics are the work of Halvor Strand and Tor Oddmund Suhrke. Art Design by Ritxi Ostariz.
