Tachina \Tach"i*na\, n.; pl. Tachin[ae]. [NL., fr. Gr. tachino`s, for tachy`s swift.] (Zo["o]l.) Any one of numerous species of Diptera belonging to Tachina and allied genera. Their larv[ae] are external parasites of other insects.
