Synapta \Syn*ap"ta\, n. [NL., fr. Gr. ? fastened together; sy`n with + ? to fasten.] (Zo["o]l.) A genus of slender, transparent holothurians which have delicate calcareous anchors attached to the dermal plates. See Illustration in Appendix.
