Swords was an American indie rock band that formed in 1999 in Portland, Oregon. The band took their name from the idea of being "hired assassins of rock". The name of the band was shortened to Swords from The Swords Project in 2003. In May 2006, the band announced they would be breaking up, but would most likely continue working together in various other music projects.

"Swords" is a song by Leftfield, released as the third single from their album Rhythm and Stealth. It was also their last single release until 2015. The song featured vocals by Nicole Willis. It was featured on the soundtrack to the movie Go in April 1999 and released as a single on 5 June 2000 on the Hard Hands record label, published by Chrysalis Music.

Swords is a compilation album by Morrissey, released on 26 October 2009. The album features 18 single B-sides collected from the preceding three Morrissey albums – You Are the Quarry (2004), Ringleader of the Tormentors (2006), and Years of Refusal (2009). Morrissey issued a total of 24 studio B-sides during 2004-2009, as well as numerous live B-side tracks, making Swords an incomplete collection of his non-album work of the era. However, in his review of the album, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of allmusic.com notes that "Not all the flipsides are here, but all the noteworthy ones are."

Initial copies of the CD include a bonus disc of eight songs recorded live in Warsaw during Morrissey's 2009 tour. The compilation was supported by the Swords Tour, featuring dates in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland, and the United States.

In a statement, Morrissey revealed that he had intended Swords to be a budget album, and was disappointed to see it be retailed for such a high price.

Swords (TV series)

Swords: Life on the Line is a reality television series produced by Original Productions for the Discovery Channel. The series documents the events aboard New England fishing boats fishing for Swordfish. See Longline fishing.

The series follows a similar format to Deadliest Catch. In the first season, television crews are placed on four boats to tape their fishing season: The Eagle Eye II, Big Eye, Sea Hawk, and Frances Anne. In Season 2, the Sea Hawk was replaced by the Bjorn II by the boat's captain. In the third season, the Bjorn II was replaced by Linda Greenlaw's first boat the Hannah Boden

The series was partially inspired by The Perfect Storm.

Swords have described themselves as an alternative band that blend guitars, synths, samples, drums, and piano hooks with haunting and intimate vocals. Music writers have compared the band to Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ane Brun, Portishead, Cat Power & Zola Jesus.

"Swords" is a song by British recording artist M.I.A.. The track was written by M.I.A., Jerry Leembruggen, Ruben Fernhout, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Tevin Plaate and Kaushal Sahil. Leembruggen and Fernhout are part of The Partysquad, who produced the song alongside M.I.A. and Spanker. The track is centred around the sound of clinging swords, recorded during filming the music video, and was completed overnight during the singer's stay in India.

The song was released as part of "Matahdatah Scroll 01 "Broader Than a Border"", which featured both "Swords", and the track "Warriors", from M.I.A.'s fourth studio album, Matangi. It was self-released worldwide, under exclusive license to Interscope on 17 August 2015. The song has not yet been performed live.
