Founded by Justin Cameron, Lex Pedersen and Haydn Smith from Sydney's Northern Beaches, SurfStitch has grown from a backyard garage operation to a global business. SurfStitch has become Australia's largest online fashion retailer, the world's largest online action sports and youth apparel retailer, and is home to over 20,000+ products and 600 brands

After launching the business’ European operations in late 2012, SurfStitch complemented this success by acquiring Europe's largest player, Surfdome.com (founded by Justin Stone). This was followed by the acquisition of the North American leading online retail platform, Swell.com

December 2014 witnessed the successful IPO of the SurfStitch Group on the Australian Stock Exchange (Stock Code SRF.AX).

In May 2015 SurfStitch announced the acquisitions of Stab Magazine (the world's largest Surf publishing and content network) and Magicseaweed (the worlds largest surf forecasting network)
