What is "sulfurimonas"

Sulfurimonas is a bacterial genus within the class Epsilonproteobacteria. The members of this group grow chemolithoautotrophically using zero valent sulfur, molecular hydrogen or reduced sulfur compounds as electron donors and nitrate, nitrite and oxygen as electron acceptors. CO is used as the sole carbon source. Habitats where representatives of Sulfurimonas have been isolated from included coastal sediments and hydrothermal vents.
