Steven is a fictional character invented by the rock artist Alice Cooper. He appears on the albums Welcome to My Nightmare (1975), Alice Cooper Goes to Hell (1976) -- via "A Bedtime Story" in the liner notes, Hey Stoopid (1991), The Last Temptation (1994), Along Came a Spider (2008), and Welcome 2 My Nightmare (2011).
According to Alice Cooper, he used the Steven character on four or five albums before considering who the Steven character was. He got the idea of using a recurring character through his albums from Kurt Vonnegut using Kilgore Trout through his novels. Alice believes that Steven is a seven-year-old boy that lives in all of us and keeps us young.
