What is "stereosternum"

Stereosternum is a genus of mesosaurid marine reptile from the Early Permian of Brazil. Unlike other mesosaurs, which appear to have been filter feeders, Stereosternum seeming led a lifestyle similar to that of the gharial, capturing fish with its slender snout, filled with sharp teeth. The juveniles also appear to have been less aquatic than the adults.
