Stand Tall is a 1997 documentary about bodybuilding in the same vein as Pumping Iron. The movie centers on Lou Ferrigno's battle with hearing loss and his rise to prominence on the world bodybuilding stage. Bodybuilding legends Joe Weider and Arnold Schwarzenegger also appear in the film, as well as notable bodybuilders like Robby Robinson.
"Stand Tall" is the title of an international hit single by Burton Cummings, taken from his eponymous debut album. The recording was issued as the album's lead single in the fall of 1976, spending 21 weeks on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and reaching number 10. The song reached number five on the U.S. Cash Box Top 100, and spent four weeks at number four in Canada. The song became a Gold record.
"Stand Tall" was an even bigger Adult Contemporary hit, reaching number two in the U.S. and spending one week at number one in Canada. It was kept from the number-one position on the U.S. AC chart by the Captain and Tennille's hit, " Muskrat Love."
The song was released less than two years after "Dancin' Fool," the final hit single by the group for which Cummings had been lead singer, The Guess Who.
"Stand Tall" is the title of the debut single by Bahjat, taken from his eponymous debut EP, due for release in the spring of 2016. The song is talks about appreciating the people one has in their life, and has a strong message of unity. With the song, a campaign on social media, dealing with discrimination, also took place under the same title of the song, with a video of different people talking about their experiences with discrimination leading the campaign. The song has so far peaked at #7 on the Maltese Top 10.
