Sonkar
Sonkar are a Hindu caste of community that traditionally belongs to Nagavanshi Kshatriya tribe, found in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in India. Historically, the Sonkar were a community. They are divided into a number of exogamous clans, the main ones being the Magariya, Gotiya, and Jaraliya. The community speak the Bundelkhandi dialect of Hindi. In Uttar Pradesh, they are found mainly in the districts of Hamirpur and Jhansi. They worship serpents and considered them to be their protector deities(Kushwaha/Koshwaha/Maurya).
