What is "slidre"

Slidre is the administrative centre of Vestre Slidre municipality, Norway. It is located by the Slidrefjord. Its population ( SSB 2005) is 293.

Slidre (with its surrounding areas) was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was divided into Vestre Slidre and Øystre Slidre in 1849.
