Singara (moth)

'Singara ' is a genus of moths of the Noctuidae family.

Usage examples of "singara".

They were honored and paid well in Tigranocerta, in Nisibis, in Amida, in Singara, everywhere.

That river, which rose near the Tigris, was increased, a few miles below Nisibis, by the little stream of the Mygdonius, passed under the walls of Singara, and fell into the Euphrates at Circesium, a frontier town, which, by the care of Diocletian, was very strongly fortified.

The event of the day was most commonly adverse to the Romans, but in the battle of Singara, their imprudent valor had almost achieved a signal and decisive victory.
