Wikipedia
Silver City is a 2004 political satire and drama film. It was written and directed by John Sayles.
Chris Cooper portrays an inept Republican gubernatorial candidate, a character that was noted for similarities to U.S. President George W. Bush. The film's ensemble cast includes Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Huston, Michael Murphy, Maria Bello, Kris Kristofferson, Mary Kay Place, Thora Birch, Tim Roth, Billy Zane and Daryl Hannah.
The film is a "murder mystery [linked] to a political satire"; according to Sayles, it is "about electoral politics, but also about the press."
The Silver City is a fictional location in stories published DC Universe. It is the home of beings known as Angels and of the Presence, the primary deity of Abrahamic theology in the DC Universe. The Silver City debuted in More Fun Comics #52, (February 1940), and was created by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily.
Silver City may refer to:
Silver City is a 1984 Australian film about post-war Polish immigration to Australia, following World War II. "Silver City" is the nickname of the immigration hostel in Australia. David Stratton calls it one of the best Australian films of the 1980s and thought that it should have made Gosia Dobrowolska a major star.
Silver City is a 1951 film directed by Byron Haskin. It stars Edmond O'Brien and Yvonne De Carlo.
Silver City is a 2013 Christmas album recorded by experimental Christian rock band Falling Up. It was digitally released on December 6, 2013, and contained 11 tracks. It is the first Christmas-related album that Falling Up has released. Although the band labeled it as an " extended play," at 11 tracks, it exceeds both Billboard's and the RIAA's definition for an EP, which is capped at six and five maximum tracks, respectively. The iTunes Store and Amazon.com versions did not include the opening track, "Intro/Jingle Bells".
Due to the album's release being too close to Christmas to press physical copies and mail them in time, Falling Up only released the album digitally, stating that they would most likely remaster the album, add a few songs and release physical copies for Christmas 2014.
After the initial release of Silver City, the album was made available through "Groupees" for a $1.00 minimum donation in support of the Typhoon Haiyan victims, with 100% of the proceeds going to Action Against Hunger's relief fund.
