Shehr-e-Zaat

Shehr-e-Zaat is a 2012 Pakistani spiritual romantic drama serial based on the novel of the same name by Umera Ahmed. It is directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, and produced by Momina Duraid and Abdullah Kadwani. It stars Mahira Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Mohib Mirza in the leads.

The Hum network gave its program three Hum Awards, including Best Drama Serial, having nominated it in seven categories. Mohib Mirza was nominated for best supporting actor at the Pakistan Media Awards in 2013. A special transmission was held in Karachi and broadcast on Hum TV at the conclusion of the drama. It was also broadcast in India on Zindagi Channel under the same name.

Shehr-e-Zaat (novella)

Shehr-e-Zaat ( ; lit: City of Self ) is a novella by Pakistani fiction writer Umera Ahmed published in 2002. A blog at the Express Tribune describes the story as a fictional story with an elements of spiritualism and philosophy. Story tells the obsession of ones, with worldly life forgetting its creator, a journey from self to subsistence.
