What is "shalkar"

Shalkar is a town and the administrative center of Shalkar District in Aktobe Region of western Kazakhstan. The town is located north of the Ülken Borsyk Desert, close to Lake Shalkar. Population:

Radio «Shalkar» - a structural unit of Kazakh Radio, which broadcasts only in the state language. Start broadcasting on January 1, 1966. On October 1, 2012 translated into a new broadcasting media center «QazMedia Ortalygy» in Astana. Included in the RTRC JSC «Kazakhstan».
