What is "shaktawat"

Shaktawat is a branch of the Sisodia clan of Rajputs.

The Shaktawats descend from Shakti Singh (or Sakta), a son of Udai Singh II and the younger brother of Maharana Pratap. He allied with the Mughals, but returned to his brother's side at the Battle of Haldighati.

The Shaktawats were rivals of Chundawats, who descend from Lakha Singh's son Chunda (Choonda).
