Shahapur
Shahapur is a census town in Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Shahapur is the largest Taluka in Thane District. Shahapur is surrounded by the Western Ghats(Sahyadri). Places like Mahuli fort and Aaja Parvat are popular spots for trekking. The Maharashtra Government has declared Shahapur a centre for tourism. Local temples include Manas Mandir and Gurudawara.
Shahapur (Vidhan Sabha constituency)
Shahapur (Assembly constituency) is one of the twenty four constituencies of Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha located in the Thane district. It is reserved for ST candidates.
It is a part of the Bhiwandi (Lok Sabha constituency)(ST) along with five other assembly constituencies, viz Bhiwandi Rural(ST), Bhiwandi East, Bhiwadi West, Kalyan West and Murbad.
