Sethian (band)

Sethian is a Finnish progressive metal band, originally formed in 1998 but whose debut album, Into the Silence, was not completed and released until 2003. That album bears a striking resemblance to the Empire-era of Queensrÿche, though with darker lyrics. Members include Tapio Wilska of Finntroll and Jukka Nevalainen, the drummer for Nightwish.

The group formed after the band Nattvindens Gråt decided to split in 1997. Jussi Koponen and Wilska were part of the line-up and wished to continue playing music together. They invited other musicians whom they knew from other bands to join the project. Sethian can be compared to For My Pain in that it is a Finnish metal supergroup. Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish also plays in the band. The band's progression has been a slow process in both finding its members and the creation of its releases.

Sethian are currently out of action due to the members being pre-occupied with recording and touring obligations in their main bands.

Stephen was at liberty, but Slade, the Sethian elder, found it extremely difficult to bring his word out.

After a discourse on the long-established and universally-practised custom of free trading in Shelmerston and the wanton brutality of the preventive men, it appeared that a Sethian, Harry Fell, had been sent to Botany Bay for beating a Customs officer.

Stephen, speaking to a grey-haired seaman from Shelmerston, a shipmate on former voyages and a member of the Sethian community, renowned for truthfulness.

They have the utmost veneration for him, and believe he watches over Sethians with particular care.

He is somewhat given to listening, you know, and although I spoke perfectly sincerely to the Sethians, I could not have carried on about moral duty and the rest with him in earshot.

No doubt others of her size contain as many, but surely not quite so various, for I must confess that although I was prepared for Gnostics, Anabaptists, Sethians, Muggleton-ians and even those who follow Joanna Southcott, as well as the odd Jew or Mahometan, I was quite taken aback to find we have a Devil-worshipper aboard.
