Sentires

Sentry \Sen"try\, n.; pl. Sentires. [Probably from OF. senteret a little patch; cf. F. sentier path, and OF. sente. See Sentinel.]

  1. (Mil.) A soldier placed on guard; a sentinel.

  2. Guard; watch, as by a sentinel.
