Sengattuppatti

Sengattuppatti (Tamil:செங்காட்டுபட்டி ) is a Panchayat under Thuraiyur Union in Tiruchirappalli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Sengattuppatti is one of the biggest villages in Thuraiyur Union with a population of 5,914 as per 2011 census, and located 7 km from Thuraiyur on the way to Green Hills after Keerambur. The village is surrounded by Green Hills on Eastern and the Northern sides and it is divided into three regions namely Kalarampatti, Nadupatti & Karai Medu.

The village has a Primary School and Higher Secondary School. There are many educated people in the village who is not only working in India as well as abroad. Indian Overseas Bank has opened a branch which is a hard work Mr. K. Paranthaman. The first village in Trichy district to have the rain water drainage system fully completed back in 90's. The river from Green Hills flows on the eastern side of the village and flows during the winter if it rains well.

Agriculture is still the main occupation of people though there have many migrants towards near by places like Trichy & Perambalur. The major crops grown on this region are Paddy, Small Onion, Tomato, Sunflower, Turmeric, Cholam, Makkacholam, Coconut trees, Banana Trees & Lemon Trees. However Onion is the major crop and grows in two seasons. Also there are many commercial crops being grown there.

Sengattupatti have government hospital in our village surrounded by many other near by villages and here two chariots are available for single temple none of the villages never have this facility.
