Scleroderm \Scler"o*derm\ (? or ?; 277), n. [Gr. sklhro`s hard + de`rma skin: cf. F. scl['e]roderme.]

  1. (Zo["o]l.) One of a tribe of plectognath fishes ( Sclerodermi) having the skin covered with hard scales, or plates, as the cowfish and the trunkfish.

  2. One of the Sclerodermata.

  3. Hardened, or bony, integument of various animals.
