Salling is a peninsula located in the north-west of the larger Jutland peninsula in Denmark. The largest city in Salling is Skive.
The Sallingsund Bridge connects the peninsula to the island of Mors, crossing the Salling Sund, part of the Limfjord. The island of Fur lies to the north of the peninsula and is linked by a 3-4 minute ferry service across the Fursund from Branden.
Since January 2007 Salling is part of the newly formed Skive municipality.
Salling is a Danish retail chain that operates two department stores located in the Danish cities of Aarhus and Aalborg. The company used to be known as F. Salling Stormagasin A/S.
As of January 2014, the company was owned by Dansk Supermarked A/S, which was in turn 81% owned by F. Salling Invest A/S and F. Salling Holding A/S (known as the Salling Companies) and 19% owned by A.P. Moller-Maersk Group.
