What is "sahyouni"

Sahyouni or Sahyounie is literally the Arabic equivalent term for Zionist. It can be also transliterated as Sehyouni or Souhyouni. The word is derived from the Arabic term Sahyoun (, meaning Zion). Sahyouni is generally perceived in the Arab World as a pejorative term that might be more loosely used against all Israelis and at times against all Jews, regardless of whether they actually adhere to Zionist ideology or not. The individual term Sahyouni may be used collectively in plural as Sahayina meaning Zionists.
