What is "rudraveena"

Rudraveena (English: Strings) is a 1988 Telugu musical- drama film starring Chiranjeevi and Shobana. Produced by Anjana Productions, the film was directed by K. Balachander with musical and background score by Ilaiyaraaja. The film won three National Film Awards including the Best Feature Film on National Integration, and was premiered at the 12th International Film Festival of India. The film was later remade into Tamil by Balachander himself as Unnal Mudiyum Thambi starring Kamal Haasan and was released on 12 August 1988.

Rudraveena is a Tamil language teleserial directed by Naga. The teleserial is the biography of a fictitious 18th century Muslim saint and Rudraveena artist named Baba. Before his death, Baba predicts the appearance of an incarnation of Shiva in the early 21st century who will announce his arrival by playing the Rudraveena.
