Rosto

Rosto (artist name of Robert Stoces, born 14 February 1969, Leeuwarden) is a Dutch artist and filmmaker best known for his award-winning short film trilogy and online graphic novel Mind My Gap. Rosto is founder and owner of Studio Rosto A.D, a film production company, animation studio and atelier based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His films: The Rise and Fall of the Legendary Anglobilly Feverson and Jona/Tomberry were screened at many prestigious festivals in the world and were included in the Animation show of shows in the U.S.

In 2008 No Place Like Home was released. It is the first of an intended tetralogy of short films concerning the music and characters of music project Thee Wreckers. The second film Lonely Bones had its world premiere at the Rotterdam Film Festival January 2013.

The Monster of Nix (2011) was the most ambitious project to date. The 30 minute animated musical took 6 years to produce, involved three countries (The Netherlands, Belgium and France) and had an impressive voice cast including Terry Gilliam, Tom Waits, The Residents and The Dø. The film, which is dedicated to Rosto's son Max, was theatrically released in the Netherlands and Belgium and won numerous awards.
