Rosemont (Montreal Metro)

Rosemont is a station on the Orange Line of the Montreal Metro rapid transit system, operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM). It is located in the borough of Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The station opened on October 14, 1966, as part of the original network of the Metro.

Rosemont (provincial electoral district)

Rosemont is a provincial electoral district in the Montreal region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of part of the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough of the city of Montreal.

It was created for the 1973 election from parts of Gouin and Jeanne-Mance electoral districts.

In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged.

Rosemont (Wilmington, Delaware)

Rosemont, also known as Joseph W. and Ida Guest House, is a historic home located at 15 Cragmere Road, Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built about 1893, and is a -story, three-bay, T-shaped vernacular brick-and-frame farmhouse. It consists of a gambrel-roofed main block with projecting central bay, with a gable-roofed rear wing. The house has elements of Stick, Queen Anne, and Colonial Revival-style detailing. Also on the property is a -story frame carriage house.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2009. The property was the Highlighted Property of the Week when the National Park Service released its weekly list of March 6, 2009.

Rosemont (Woodville, Mississippi)

Rosemont, also known as Rosemont Plantation, Poplar Grove or Hale House, was built in 1814 in Woodville, Mississippi. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1987.

The house is the family and boyhood home of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America 1861-186. It is open to the public for tours.

It may be included within the Woodville Historic District.

Rosemont, also known as Taylor's Seat and Hardscrabble, is a historic home located near Powhatan, Powhatan County, Virginia. It was built in 1898, and is a 2 1/2-story, frame dwelling in the Queen Anne / Stick Style. It features Gothic Revival detailing, varying window types, stained glass, wainscoting and a plethora of fireplaces. Also on the property are the contributing original frame stable and cemetery.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

Rosemont (horse)

Rosemont (foaled 1932 in Virginia) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse best known for his win in the 1937 Santa Anita Handicap, when he defeated the popular horse Seabiscuit. This race was featured in a scene in the motion picture Seabiscuit (2003).

Rosemont was bred by William du Pont, Jr. Du Pont purchased his dam while in foal in a dispersal sale, and got Rosemont when she gave birth. He was trained by Richard E. Handlen and raced under du Pont's Foxcatcher Farm stables. Among his other wins, Rosemont defeated the Triple Crown winner Omaha in winning the 1935 Withers Stakes at Belmont Park before a crowd of 25,000.

Following his retirement from racing, Rosemont stood at stud at William duPont's Walnut Hall Farm near Boyce, Virginia, where he had been foaled in 1932. Of his progeny, the most notable are Bed O' Roses, a U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee, and Berlo, the 1960 American Champion Three-Year-Old Filly.
