Rochford is a town in the Rochford district of Essex in the East of England. It is about from Central London and approximately from Chelmsford, the County Town of Essex. According to the 2001 census the civil parish of Rochford, which includes the town proper, and London Southend Airport, had a population of 7,610, increasing to 8,471 at the 2011 Census.
Rochford was a parliamentary constituency in Essex, centred on the town of Rochford.
It returned one Member of Parliament to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1983 until it was abolished for the 1997 general election, when it was partly replaced by the new constituency of Rochford and Southend East.
