Robert Lee (actor)

Robert Lee (born 1924) is a retired Chinese actor based in the United Kingdom. Born in Tientsin, he arrived in England to study, receiving a bachelor's degree in history from Trinity College, Cambridge. He then worked at several Chinese and Japanese restaurants before being encouraged by friends to become an actor. Lee played supporting roles in many films and television programmes throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and was frequently called upon whenever a production required an East Asian character. His film appearances include You Only Live Twice (1967) and Half Moon Street (1986), and his television appearances include The Avengers, The Chinese Detective and The Bill, but his best known role is as Tarō Nagazumi, the Japanese business executive and English language student, in the sitcom Mind Your Language from 1977 to 1979. Lee retired from acting in 2010, and currently lives in Hampstead, north London.

Robert Lee (golfer)

Robert Lee (born 12 October 1961) is an English professional golfer.

Lee was born in London. He turned professional in 1982 and was in his prime from 1985 to 1987, finishing in the top thirty of the European Tour Order of Merit each of those years. He twice shot 27 for nine holes on the tour, first at the 1985 Monte Carlo Open, and again two years later at the 1987 Portuguese Open. He went on to win the latter, one of his two victories on the European Tour.

From the late 1980s Lee's form dipped, and he spent the latter half of the 1990s going back and forth between the second-tier Challenge Tour and the main European Tour. Since leaving the tour at the end of the 1999 season, Lee has worked as an analyst for Sky Sports.

Robert Lee (Lord Mayor)

Sir Robert Lee (died 22 December 1605) was an English merchant who was Lord Mayor of London in 1602.

Lee was a city of London merchant and a member of the Worshipful Company of Merchant Taylors. On 18 December 1593, he was elected an alderman of the City of London for Dowgate ward. He was Sheriff of London from 1594 to 1595. He became alderman for Cordwainer ward from 1599 to 1602, and for Langbourn ward from 1602 to 1605. In 1602, he was elected Lord Mayor of London. He was knighted on 22 May 1603

Lee married a daughter of Sir James Hawes, Lord Mayor in 1574. He was father of Sir Henry Lee, alderman in 1614 and father-in-law of William Gore. Following his death, his widow married Sir Thomas Gerard, 1st Baronet of Bryn.

Robert Lee (dentist)

Robert Edward Lee (13 May 1920 – 5 July 2010) was a naturalised Ghanaian dentist. Born in South Carolina to an African-American family, he studied dentistry in Tennessee and then in 1956 emigrated to Ghana with his wife Sara, also a dentist. They were the first black dentists in the country. In the 1970s, Lee became involved with a campaign to refurbish forts on the coast of Ghana as monuments to the Atlantic slave trade. He lived in Ghana until his death.
