Relayer

Relayer is the seventh studio album by the English progressive rock band Yes, released on 28 November 1974 in the United Kingdom and 5 December 1974 in the United States by Atlantic Records. Following the departure of keyboardist Rick Wakeman, the group recruited Swiss player Patrick Moraz as his replacement in August 1974 and recorded the album in bassist Chris Squire's home in Virginia Water, Surrey. Recorded in a similar format as Close to the Edge (1972) with one side-long track (" The Gates of Delirium") and two shorter tracks ("Sound Chaser" and "To Be Over"), Relayer saw Yes experiment with elements of funk and jazz fusion.

Relayer received a mixed to positive reception from contemporary and retrospective critics, and reached No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 5 on the US Billboard 200. The closing section of "The Gates of Delirium", titled "Soon", was released as a single in January 1975. Relayer continued to sell, and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales in excess of 500,000 copies. The album was remastered in 2003 with previously unreleased tracks, and in 2014 with new stereo and 5.1 surround sound mixes and additional bonus tracks.
