Rasores
Gallinae \Gal*li"nae\, n.; pl. [NL., fr. L. gallina a hen, gallus a cock.] (Zo["o]l.) An order of birds, including the common domestic fowls, pheasants, grouse, quails, and allied forms; -- sometimes called {Rasores}.

Rasores \Ra*so"res\ (r[.a]*z[=o]"r[=e]z), n. pl. [NL., fr. L. radere, rasum, to scratch. See Rase, v. t.] (Zo["o]l.) An order of birds; the Gallin[ae].
Note: Formerly, the word Rasores was used in a wider sense, so as to include other birds now widely separated in classification.
